What's in a name?
The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse II Timothy 2:15: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
What is the purpose of Awana?
The mission of Awana is to reach kids with the Gospel and engage them in lifelong discipleship. For over 70 years Awana has been a leader in children's ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
How does Awana work?
Boys and girls of all ages learn through Bible scripture memorization, engaging Bible lessons, and fun games.
